The Dream Team

Diane DiRoma

Vice President | General Manager

Diane DiRoma has a strong work ethic, given to her by her father. He said, “Diane, work hard and stay humble.” Each of her accomplishments in life, with his advice in mind, has led to new plateaus.  Responsible for the Winery’s strategic market positioning, Winemaking, operations, sales and marketing.

DiRoma has worked alongside winery owner and namesake Ron Rubin since 2006, starting as a sales manager with Rubin-owned The Republic of Tea. There, the onetime Southern Wine & Spirits territory manager helped transform business.

With Rubin’s 2012 acquisition of the former River Road Family Vineyards & Winery, DiRoma was deputized to oversee sales and marketing at the winery and adjoining ten -acre vineyard. More recently, DiRoma has helped spearhead River Road Family Vineyards and Winery’s inclusion into the Certified B Corporation community.

Ron Rubin notes: “Diane has been my right hand for close on two decades. Competitive, focused, and hardworking, she has been instrumental in making us what we are today. I look forward to our beautiful journey continuing together for many years to come.”

In conjunction with her responsibilities at the River Road Family Vineyards and Winery and The Republic of Tea, DiRoma has earned her Global Wine Executive MBA from the School of Business and Economics at Sonoma State University. DiRoma also serves on Russian River Valley Winegrowers Board of Directors and is active in the Sonoma State MBA Alumni Forum Board.

Early achievements for Diane came as a sports figure: She was a basketball standout from 1993 to 1997, was celebrated at the University’s Soaring With Pride campaign, and at the Hall of Fame Sports Gallery. In 2010, Diane was inducted into the UMass Lowell Athletic Hall of Fame. Considered to be one of the greatest players to wear the UMass Lowell uniform, quoting Kathy O’Neil, head women’s basketball coach: “Diane DiRoma was instrumental in leading the women’s basketball team to its most successful four-year period in the program’s history. I am thrilled that Diane was selected to the UMass Lowell Hall of Fame. Simply put, Diane DiRoma is a winner. Diane was a team player and she understood what this program needed in order to be successful.”

Diane currently resides in Novato, California with her wife Tanya, and their 2 sons, Finn and Wyatt.
